Home Physiotherapy in Hinjewadi, Pune

Home physiotherapy in Hinjewadi, Pune, across IT Park Phases 1 to 3, Marunji and Maan, for back and knee pain, stroke recovery and rehab after surgery.

If you are looking for home physiotherapy in Hinjewadi, Proper Care Physiotherapy can send a physiotherapist to your flat instead of asking you to cross Laxmi Chowk in the evening rush while your back or knee is hurting. The session happens where the problem shows up: on the sofa you work from, in the bedroom a parent has not left for weeks, or on the stairs of a low-rise society without a lift.

Hinjewadi is different from most of Pune in one respect. Many of the people who live here came for a job, so a lot of households are tenants in rented flats, often far from the older relatives who might have helped at home. This page explains how visits work across the area, who we usually see, which parts we cover and, plainly, what the distance from our base means for booking.

A candid note on distance and booking

Our physiotherapists set out from the clinic base on Katraj–Kondhwa Road in South Pune. Hinjewadi lies at the other end of the city, so it is one of the farther areas we serve. That has a practical consequence: visits here are planned in advance rather than arranged the same afternoon, and we agree a time window with you instead of a precise minute. If you know a discharge date, an appointment or a bad week at work is coming, book early and tell us.

The route usually runs through Wakad and Bhumkar Chowk to Laxmi Chowk, or in from Baner, and the roads around the park are slow when offices open and close. A June 2025 report described Laxmi Chowk coming to a standstill after its signal failed. A visit window gives the physiotherapist room to arrive calmly, which matters more than a promised minute.

Who we see in Hinjewadi

Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park is a business park of about 2,800 acres built by MIDC, with more than 800 companies and an estimated 240,000 employees travelling in each day. The homes around it fill with the same people, so the patients here have a recognisable profile:

  • Desk workers with neck, shoulder and back pain. Hours at a laptop, often on a dining chair, load the spine long before the pain is noticed. See back pain physiotherapy in Hinjewadi.
  • Parents who moved in with their children. Knee pain, stiffness and unsteadiness often show up when someone leaves a familiar ground-floor home for a flat on the eleventh floor. Our pages on knee pain physiotherapy and elderly physiotherapy describe those sessions.
  • Families after a stroke. A younger family, both partners at work, suddenly has to organise daily care. See stroke rehabilitation in Hinjewadi.
  • People recovering from an operation. Knee replacement, spine surgery or a fracture repair at a hospital elsewhere in Pune, followed by a return to a flat here. See post-surgery rehabilitation in Hinjewadi.
  • Young residents with sports and gym injuries, such as a sprained ankle from weekend football or a strained shoulder from the gym.

For a wider overview, our guides on neck pain, sciatica and fall prevention explain the conditions in general terms.

Which part of Hinjewadi are you in?

People say "Hinjewadi" for a wide stretch of ground, and the character changes from one end to the other. Each sub-area has its own page.

  • Hinjewadi Phase 1: the oldest phase and the village core around Shivaji Chowk and Laxmi Chowk, with PG rooms and rented flats close to the offices.
  • Hinjewadi Phase 2: the campus belt around Wipro Circle Phase 2, where the metro stations are named after the phase.
  • Hinjewadi Phase 3: the newer, outer phase, partly in Maan village, with high-rise societies on its edge.
  • Marunji: the village to the north, where large gated townships have grown along the road.
  • Maan: the village on the western side, where parts of Phases 2 and 3 stand and where the metro line begins.

Not sure which of these your society falls in? Give us the society name and the nearest chowk when you book, and we will sort it out with you.

Gated societies, lifts and rented flats

Most homes here are apartments in towers or low-rise blocks with a lift, so the barrier for a patient is rarely stairs outside the flat. It is the building itself. A security desk needs to know a visitor is coming, a lift may be busy at the same hours as the school bus and the office run, and the flat may be furnished by a landlord with a low sofa and a soft mattress. These details matter more than they seem.

Before a visit, add the physiotherapist to the gate list and share your tower, flat number and a phone number that someone answers. Tell us if the lift is out of order or the flat is on a high floor. For rehabilitation, the physiotherapist looks at the actual route from the bed to the bathroom, the doorway threshold, the bathroom floor and the way a walker or stick fits through the passage, then adjusts the exercises to that space.

Where a patient can practise walking

Walking practice is part of almost every plan, and many societies here have internal paths and podium gardens. Those are often better than the road outside, which has heavy traffic and few footpaths in places. The physiotherapist will say which surface and time of day suit the patient: a quiet early-morning path, a short loop inside the compound, or only the corridor and the living room for the first week. Please avoid the main roads around the park in the weekday rush.

Working days and evening visits

A household here may have two people leaving at eight and returning at eight. That shapes the plan. If the patient is alone through the day, we shorten the home programme so that it can be done safely without supervision, and we put anything that needs a helper into the evening or weekend. Where a relative joins by video from the office, we can talk them through the exercises as well. Ask for an evening window when booking; availability varies, and we confirm it for you.

Roads, metro and the monsoon

The Pune Metro Line 3 (the Pink Line) runs from Maan through the Hinjawadi phases to Wakad Chowk, Balewadi and on towards Shivajinagar. The first section from Maan to the R.K. Laxman Museum at Balewadi received a provisional safety clearance in July 2026, but a September 2026 report said passenger services were still waiting for an inauguration date, so check before planning around it. Our visits do not depend on the metro, but a smoother line may eventually ease some of the traffic.

In the monsoon, a news report from July 2026 on new roads proposed for the Hinjawadi, Maan and Marunji belt linked them to drainage work, because waterlogging regularly disrupts travel. On such days we may need to move the time window, and we will let you know.

Neighbouring areas we also cover

Hinjewadi runs into several other parts of west Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. Next door to the east, Wakad has its own page; Baner lies along the new connection towards the city; Pimple Saudagar sits in Pimpri-Chinchwad; and Bavdhan is on the other side of the hills. If your address is on the edge of one of these, the page for that area may suit you better.

What your first home visit includes

  1. History and reports. What happened, how long it has lasted, which medicines are being taken. Keep scans, discharge papers and the surgeon's notes at hand.
  2. Safety screening. Questions about warning signs that need a doctor first, listed below.
  3. Watching everyday movement. Standing from your usual seat, walking to the bathroom, and how you sit at your workstation if the pain is work-related.
  4. Examination. Joint movement, strength, balance and sensation, depending on the problem.
  5. A first treatment, if it is safe, in the same visit.
  6. A plan you can follow. A few exercises, what to avoid for now and how often to practise, written around your working day.

We do not promise a recovery time. It depends on the condition, how long it has been present and how regularly the plan is followed between visits.

Signs that need a doctor before any physiotherapy

Go to a hospital emergency department, or call for an ambulance, if there is:

  • sudden weakness or numbness of the face, arm or leg, slurred speech or a drooping face;
  • chest pain, breathlessness, or a swollen, painful calf in the weeks after surgery;
  • back pain with new trouble passing urine, loss of bowel control or numbness around the genitals;
  • an injury after which the person cannot put weight on the leg or a limb looks deformed;
  • back or neck pain with fever, unexplained weight loss or severe night pain that no position eases.

Should any of these appear mid-session, the physiotherapist pauses treatment and sends you to a doctor; sessions restart after medical clearance.

  • the times when the patient is at home and when someone can be there to help;
  • whether the gate needs a pre-registered visitor.

Common Questions

Home physiotherapy in Hinjewadi: questions families ask

Do you visit homes in all three phases of Hinjewadi, and in Marunji and Maan?
Yes, those are the parts of Hinjewadi we cover, and each has its own page. Because the area is a long way from our South Pune base, we ask you to book ahead rather than expect a visit at short notice, and to give the society name and the nearest chowk.
I work in the IT Park and cannot leave during the day. Can the session be after office hours?
Often, yes. Tell us when you reach home and we will look for an evening window, depending on availability. Because the roads around Laxmi Chowk slow down at the end of the working day, we agree on a time window rather than an exact minute.
My parents have moved in with us in a rented flat. Can they have physiotherapy there?
Yes. A flat that is rented or shared is fine. The physiotherapist needs a chair without wheels, a firm bed or a clear patch of floor, and a few steps of walking space, and will work with what is there.
Will the physiotherapist be able to enter a gated society?
Usually, if the society knows to expect a visitor. Please add the physiotherapist's name to the gate list, or tell the security desk, before the visit. Share the tower, flat number and a phone number that will be answered at the gate.
Can physiotherapy be arranged before a family member comes home from hospital?
Yes. If the surgeon has advised physiotherapy at home, book before discharge so the first visit falls in the first days at home.
Is a long computer day the reason my neck and back hurt?
It is a common contributor, though not the only one. The physiotherapist looks at how you sit, where your screen sits, how often you move and whether the pain spreads into an arm or leg, and then treats and advises accordingly.
