Home physiotherapy in Maan, Pune: a physiotherapist visits village homes and new apartments near the Hinjewadi IT Park for pain, injury and rehab.
Maan is a village on the western side of Hinjewadi, and it does not look like the rest of the IT Park. Parts of Phases 2 and 3 stand inside its boundaries, yet the village still has families who have lived here for generations, some in old houses with steps and a courtyard. Alongside them, apartment blocks have appeared over the last two decades. Anyone searching for a physiotherapist in Maan may be in either world.
Proper Care Physiotherapy visits homes here. It is among the farthest places on our map from our base in South Pune, so we ask for notice. This page explains what to expect, who a Maan visit usually helps and how to prepare.
Wikipedia describes Maan as a part of Pune district governed by a gram panchayat and falling under the PMRDA. It was largely rural until companies and residential towers began arriving in the 2000s. That history matters to a physiotherapist, because it produces two very different patient groups side by side.
Older residents have often spent decades working on their feet, bending in the field or carrying loads, and their joints show it. Newer residents sit at desks. Both groups have a back, and both have knees, but the loads that cause their pain are almost opposite.
Years of squatting, lifting and walking uneven ground can leave knees stiff and hips tight. The physiotherapist examines the whole chain, from spine to foot, and builds a plan around what the person actually needs to do: getting off a low cot, climbing a few stone or concrete steps, reaching a tap in the yard. Exercises are chosen to be done in the house, with whatever furniture is there.
Older houses often have raised thresholds, a bathroom on the far side of the courtyard and floors that get slippery after rain. We look at these directly and suggest changes that cost little, such as a firmly placed mat, a stool in the bathroom and good lighting on the path at night. Our page on elderly physiotherapy in Hinjewadi goes into the safety side in more detail.
Newer buildings near the park are home to working adults whose pain is more likely to come from sitting. Our back pain physiotherapy page for Hinjewadi covers the desk and commute side. For parents who have moved in, knee pain physiotherapy explains a typical first visit.
Village lanes and new roads do not always appear on a map the way they look on the ground. When you book, send a map location from your phone if you can, and give the nearest landmark. A lane that is too narrow for a car is not a problem for us, since the physiotherapist travels light, but we need to know where to leave the vehicle. If the phone network is weak at the house, give a second number.
Maan is the western terminus of Pune Metro Line 3. Its stations are named Maan, Maan–MIDC Circle Phase-II and Maan Bus Depot, and a depot for the line is planned on about 20 hectares in the village. The first stretch from Maan to the R.K. Laxman Museum at Balewadi was given provisional safety clearance in July 2026, but a report from 23 September said passenger services were still waiting for an inauguration date.
Meanwhile, building and road works continue. PMRDA has proposed new roads linking Maan with Nande and Thakar Vasti, along with drainage to address monsoon waterlogging. For visits, that means long and sometimes unpredictable journeys, particularly in heavy rain. We give a time window, and we call if the roads force a change.
A family in Maan may be far from the hospital where an operation took place, so the return home is an anxious time. A physiotherapist can check the walking aid, show the patient how to get in and out of bed and manage steps, and tell the family which pains are expected and which should be reported to the surgeon. See post-surgery rehabilitation and stroke rehabilitation in Hinjewadi.

Sudden facial droop or weakness on one side, difficulty speaking, chest pain, a hot swollen calf after surgery, new bladder or bowel problems with back pain, or a fall after which a limb will not take weight all call for an emergency department. In a village far from a hospital, set off early and do not wait for a visit.
Use the booking page. Include the area or lane, a map pin if possible, the floor or steps at the house, the main problem and when a family member is at home. Book as far ahead as you can.
