Home Physiotherapy in North Pune

Proper Care Physiotherapy visits patients at home across North Pune, from the cantonment lanes of Khadki and the dense streets of Yerawada to the apartment societies of Kalyani Nagar and Viman Nagar. Visits are scheduled in advance as a time window. The physiotherapist assesses you in your own home, treats the problem and leaves a plan the family can follow.

North Pune covers a long arc of the city above the Mula and Mutha rivers: the cantonment town of Khadki, the dense and busy neighbourhood of Yerawada, the residential grid of Kalyani Nagar and Viman Nagar, and Vishrantwadi and Lohegaon towards the airport. For someone looking for a physiotherapist in North Pune, these places share one thing: getting across them in traffic takes planning, which is why a home visit can be the easier option.

Proper Care Physiotherapy is based in South Pune, so a North Pune visit is arranged in advance and given as a time window. This page describes what the different parts of the zone are like, and the area cards below it list every locality.

A zone made of very different neighbourhoods

Khadki is a cantonment area with a long military history, a railway station and a large bazaar. It is bordered on three sides by the Mula river, and has an ammunition factory, old sports grounds and a mix of older housing. Many homes in the older parts are low-rise buildings and colonies, where stairs rather than lifts are the rule, and the people we see are often long-time residents who have found those stairs harder with age.

Yerawada is one of the most densely populated parts of Pune, at the start of the Nagar highway, and the road across the Mutha river from Bund Garden leads into it. Closely built lanes, shared courtyards and walk-up buildings are common, and parking is limited. Our physiotherapists work with the conditions of the house, not against them: a narrow stairwell, a bed pushed against a wall, a shared bathroom down the corridor.

Further east, Kalyani Nagar and Viman Nagar are mostly apartment societies, shopping streets and offices, and Viman Nagar is often grouped with Koregaon Park and Kalyani Nagar as the city's eastern necklace. Lifts and security gates are common in the newer societies. Lohegaon sits next to the airport and mixes older village lanes with newer housing, and Vishrantwadi lies north of Yerawada, towards Dhanori.

Who we see in North Pune

The patients differ by area. In Khadki and Yerawada we are often called for older residents whose knees, hips and backs have slowed them, or for people with limited mobility who can no longer manage the stairs to the street. In Kalyani Nagar and Viman Nagar, many requests come from working adults with neck and back pain, and from families who want a parent looked after at home while they travel for work.

Roads, bridges and timing

North Pune's geography is a set of river crossings and a few main roads. The Mula and Mutha rivers curve around Khadki and Yerawada, and bridges such as the Holkar Bridge and the Sangam bridges are the connection points. The Nagar highway leads out of Yerawada to Kalyani Nagar, Viman Nagar and beyond, and the airport roads feed Lohegaon. The metro now runs out to Kalyani Nagar and Ramwadi, but airport and commuter traffic still mean that road conditions vary through the day.

From our base on Katraj–Kondhwa Road the route to North Pune crosses the city, so we do not quote a fixed arrival minute. We agree a window when you book, we prefer to know in advance when the patient is at home, and we tell you if the physiotherapist is held up. Where a society restricts visitors, a call to the gate from you or a family member saves a wait.

Home as the place to practise

For many patients in this zone, the session takes place in the room they spend the day in. A person recovering from a stroke needs to practise getting from the bed to a chair and to the bathroom; someone with a stiff shoulder needs to reach the shelf in their own kitchen. In a Yerawada walk-up, the physiotherapist may use the stairwell as the practice area. In a Viman Nagar society, it may be the lift lobby and the garden path.

What to tell us when booking

  • the area, and a landmark such as a chowk or a bridge;
  • the building or society, the floor and whether there is a lift;
  • the problem, and any recent surgery, hospital stay or scans;
  • when the patient and a helper are at home.

You can book through the website or call us, and home-session charges are listed on the pricing page. Some symptoms need a doctor before physiotherapy, such as sudden weakness or a drooping face, chest pain or a swollen calf after surgery, so we ask a few safety questions at the start.

Common Questions

Home physiotherapy in North Pune: questions families ask

Do you offer home physiotherapy in Viman Nagar and Kalyani Nagar?
Yes. Both are covered, along with Yerawada, Khadki, Vishrantwadi and Lohegaon. Visits are booked ahead because our base is in South Pune, and we give you a time window rather than an exact minute.
Can you work in a crowded lane or a walk-up building in Yerawada?
Yes. Tell us the nearest landmark, the floor and where a two-wheeler can stop. The physiotherapist plans around your stairs, bed and bathroom as they are, and uses the stairwell for practice where that is safe.
My father had a stroke and cannot reach a clinic. Can the family learn the exercises?
Yes. Teaching the person who helps most is part of the first visit. The physiotherapist shows safe transfers and a short exercise routine, and adjusts it at later visits.
How long does it take for the physiotherapist to reach North Pune?
It depends on the day and the route across the city, so we do not quote a fixed time. We agree a window when you book and tell you if the physiotherapist is delayed.
