Home Physiotherapy in Marunji, Pune

Physiotherapist in Marunji, Pune: home visits to township flats and village homes north of Hinjewadi, for back and knee pain, stroke and surgery recovery.

Marunji sits on the northern edge of Hinjewadi. It is a village in Mulshi taluka run by a gram panchayat, and it is also the place where the IT Park spreads north, with large gated townships built beside older village houses. If you are searching for physiotherapy in Marunji, you are probably living in one of those townships, or in a village house nearby, and finding that a clinic is a long trip away.

Proper Care Physiotherapy visits Marunji at home. The distance from our South Pune base means we plan these visits in advance, but once a window is agreed the physiotherapist comes to you, assesses the problem and builds a plan around your home.

Township life and what it does to the body

Townships such as Life Republic, which advertises a joggers park, clubhouse and landscaped gardens, give residents safe, quiet ground that most of Hinjewadi lacks. They also create habits. Many residents drive from the tower to the car, from the car to the desk and back again, and walk very little in between, even though a good path is right outside.

Typical problems we see in such households are a stiff lower back from commuting, knee pain from stairs taken the wrong way or from weight gain after years at a desk, and shoulder pain in people who lift children or heavy shopping from the boot. See the guide to back pain physiotherapy and our page on back pain physiotherapy in Hinjewadi for what a session covers.

Grandparents at home during the day

In many Marunji households both adults work, and a grandparent holds the home together: waiting for the school bus, cooking, looking after a toddler. When that person's knees begin to hurt, the household feels it at once. Home physiotherapy is often a better fit than a clinic visit, since the grandparent does not need to be driven anywhere and the exercises are practised in the same flat where the work happens.

The physiotherapist watches how they rise from the floor, climb a few steps and carry a child or a vessel. Strengthening for the thighs and hips, balance work and advice on pacing the day usually form the core of the plan. Read more in knee pain physiotherapy in Hinjewadi.

Using the township paths for recovery

For a patient who is recovering after a stroke or an operation, a township path is often the safest place to build up walking. It is level, free of traffic and usually well lit. The physiotherapist advises on how far to go, which hour is least crowded, and who should walk on the patient's weaker side. A fall on the way back is the thing to guard against, so we also discuss resting spots and a phone in the pocket. Where the patient is not ready for outdoors, the corridor outside the flat can do for the first few days.

The road in and the time it takes

The route from our base on Katraj–Kondhwa Road runs across Pune to Wakad and Laxmi Chowk, where traffic from Wakad meets the Hinjawadi–Marunji Road, then north past Shivaji Chowk. Laxmi Chowk is the main access point to both Marunji and Maan, and in June 2025 it was reported to have come to a standstill when its signal failed. PMRDA has since proposed new roads, including one from Marunji towards a Shani Mandir, along with drainage work to address monsoon waterlogging.

Until those are in place, a visit window is the honest way to promise a visit. The physiotherapist will tell you if heavy rain or an accident on the road delays the arrival.

Metro and buses

Line 3 of Pune Metro will pass Shivaji Chowk on the Hinjawadi–Marunji Road, and a station is named after the chowk. The first section was given provisional safety clearance in July 2026, but a September 2026 report said that it was still waiting for an inauguration date. If you need to attend hospital follow-ups across the city, the metro may eventually help; for therapy, a home visit remains the simpler arrangement.

After an operation or a stroke

Families in Marunji often have surgery at a large hospital elsewhere in Pune and return here to recover. Booking a physiotherapist before discharge means the first visit falls in the first days at home, when the stairs, the bathroom and the bed are the biggest challenges. See post-surgery rehabilitation in Hinjewadi, and stroke rehabilitation in Hinjewadi for neurological recovery. For stroke, family teaching is a large part of the visit; we show the person who helps what to do, and what not to do.

When not to wait for a visit

Chest pain, sudden weakness or numbness down one side, slurred speech, trouble passing urine after a back injury, or a limb that cannot bear weight after a fall need emergency care. Call an ambulance or go to the nearest emergency department; physiotherapy follows once a doctor says it is safe.

Common Questions

Home physiotherapy in Marunji: questions families ask

Our township has many towers and gates. How will the physiotherapist find us?
Give the township name, the tower or wing, the flat number and the gate nearest your tower, and a phone number that is answered at the gate. Please also tell the security desk to expect the physiotherapist.
Is Marunji too far for you to visit?
It is one of our farther areas, so we ask for notice and agree a time window. If you can book a few days ahead, it is straightforward.
My mother can walk a little but is nervous outside. Can walking practice happen in the township?
Often it can. The physiotherapist will choose a quiet path with a level surface, pick a cooler time of day and show whoever walks with her where to stand. In the first sessions, indoor walking may be safer.
Do you treat children's sports injuries?
A physiotherapist can assess sprains and strains in older children and teenagers, with a parent present. A child who cannot bear weight, or whose limb looks deformed, should be seen at an emergency department first.
