Home Physiotherapy in Bavdhan, Pune

Physiotherapist home visits in Bavdhan, Pune, from Chandni Chowk to Bavdhan Khurd, for pain, stroke recovery, surgery rehabilitation and elderly care.

Bavdhan is a residential suburb in south-western Pune, with Pashan to the north, Bhugaon to the west, the NDA reserved forest to the south and Kothrud to the east. It is a residential suburb, with apartment societies and clinics, temples and shops, and homes of every age, many with older residents. Proper Care Physiotherapy sends a physiotherapist to your home in Bavdhan, so that a bad knee or a fresh surgical wound does not become a reason to skip treatment.

This page explains how home physiotherapy in Bavdhan works, what we commonly treat, which parts of the area we visit, and how to book. It is aimed at residents, and at adult children who live elsewhere and are arranging care for a parent here.

Where we visit and how the visit is planned

Most of Bavdhan is reached by crossing Kothrud and climbing past Chandni Chowk, where the Mumbai–Bengaluru highway meets the roads towards the university, Paud Road and the NDA. The interchange built there in 2023 has eight ramps and service roads on both sides, and it has changed how traffic flows, though the approaches still fill up at peak hours. Because our base is in South Pune, visits are scheduled in advance as a time window, and the physiotherapist phones if traffic is slower than planned.

We cover the main body of Bavdhan, the apartments around Chandni Chowk, and the quieter lanes of Bavdhan Khurd towards Bhugaon. Each has its own page.

Who books physiotherapy in Bavdhan

The profile of a typical client is different from the commuter neighbourhoods across the highway. Many households include older couples or single older people, some in apartments, some in independent houses. Their children may live in Pune, in another city or abroad, and often make the booking from a distance. Younger families, many working towards Hinjewadi or Baner, form the second group.

  • Retired residents with knee arthritis, back stiffness or a fear of falling.
  • Patients back from hospital after a hip or knee operation, a fracture repair or a heart or abdominal procedure.
  • Families coping with a stroke who want to continue rehabilitation at home.
  • Working adults with neck, shoulder and lower back pain from a desk and a long commute.

Conditions we treat, with local pages

Five treatment pages are written for Bavdhan, each with a focus on how the condition shows up here:

We also treat frozen shoulder, sciatica and neck pain, and you can read about frozen shoulder and sciatica in our general guides.

Buildings with and without lifts

Bavdhan has apartment buildings of different ages. Some have lifts and wide corridors; others are walk-ups with steep stairs and no lift. For someone recovering from surgery or a stroke, that difference matters, and it is why we ask about your floor and your stairs when you book. In a building with no lift, a physiotherapist treats the patient inside the flat, looks at how they manage the stairs and teaches the family how to assist. If your parent is on an upper floor and has not left the flat for weeks, a home visit is often the only practical way to keep rehabilitation going.

Walking practice near the forest edge

The NDA reserved forest on the south side gives Bavdhan some of its greenery, and many residents like to walk early in the morning. For recovering patients, we start walking practice indoors and in the building corridor, then on a flat stretch near home. Slopes, uneven surfaces and poor light are added later, once balance and leg strength allow. A short, repeated walk is usually more useful than one long one, and we prefer routes where a companion can follow close behind.

Leaving Bavdhan for follow-up appointments

Recovery does not stay inside the flat. Patients still have to see surgeons, neurologists and physicians, and most of those hospitals lie across the city. Bavdhan is linked by road to Kothrud, Paud Road, Baner, Aundh, Pashan and Sus, and buses run from the area towards places such as Kothrud, Deccan Gymkhana, Market Yard and Hinjewadi. For someone who has just had an operation or a stroke, even a car journey to a follow-up visit is tiring. We can practise getting in and out of a car at home, sitting for the length of the trip, and standing up afterwards, so the day goes more easily.

Support for the person who gives the care

When a parent is recovering, one family member usually carries most of the load. In Bavdhan that may be an elderly spouse, a daughter who has moved in, or a paid attendant. The physiotherapist shows safe ways to help someone stand, turn in bed or climb a step, so that the carer does not hurt their own back. They also set realistic daily targets, so that practice does not take over the household. If you are the carer and are unsure whether you are doing something correctly, ask during the visit; we would rather you check than guess.

Things worth having ready

  • The society name, wing, floor and a phone number for the gate.
  • Reports, scans and the discharge summary, in one folder.
  • A list of medicines and any allergies.
  • A firm chair, a clear stretch of floor and, if relevant, any walker or stick already in use.
  • One or two goals: for example, climbing the stairs, walking to the gate, or dressing without help.

Neighbouring areas

If your address is closer to the older parts of the west side, see home physiotherapy in Kothrud. We also visit Pashan, Baner and Warje.

What the first visit includes

The first visit starts with a conversation about how the problem began, how it affects your day and whether anything needs a doctor first. The physiotherapist then examines movement, strength and balance, treats the painful area and teaches you a few exercises. They review progress at each following visit and adapt the plan. We do not promise a timetable for recovery, because the pace depends on the problem, your general health and how regularly the exercises are done. The physiotherapist will tell you plainly if progress is slower than expected and what the next step should be. In Bavdhan, where a follow-up with a specialist can mean a long drive, we are happy to write a short note for the doctor on what has been achieved so far. Fees and session details are set out on the pricing page.

When to call a doctor, not a physiotherapist

Go to an emergency department if there is sudden weakness or numbness on one side, a drooping face, slurred speech, chest pain, severe breathlessness, loss of bladder or bowel control, a fall with a head injury, or a hot, swollen and painful calf. Once a doctor has excluded a serious cause, we can start or resume treatment at home.

Booking in Bavdhan

You can book an appointment with the address, the problem in a line and the time window you prefer. If you are arranging care from another city, add the name and number of someone at the house.

Common Questions

Home physiotherapy in Bavdhan: questions families ask

Do you visit societies near Chandni Chowk and also further out towards Bhugaon?
Yes. Homes near Chandni Chowk, in Bavdhan Khurd and in the lanes towards Bhugaon are part of our Bavdhan visits. Give the society name and the nearest landmark when you book.
My father is in his eighties and lives alone in Bavdhan. Can a visit be arranged by me from another city?
Yes. You can book on his behalf, share his reports by phone and ask for a call after the visit. The physiotherapist explains the plan to him, and to you if you wish.
Our apartment has no lift and my mother lives on the second floor. Is treatment still possible?
Yes. The physiotherapist treats her at home and looks at how she manages the stairs. Stair practice is added only when it is safe, and until then the plan concentrates on strength and balance indoors.
Can I practise walking on the roads near the forest edge while recovering?
Once balance and strength allow, a flat, well-lit stretch is a good choice. Uneven ground, slopes and low light are harder, so we build up to them gradually and say when they are reasonable.
Do you cover Bavdhan Khurd as a separate area?
Yes, it has its own page, and visits there follow the same process. If you are unsure whether your address is included, ask when you book.
