Physiotherapist home visits in Kalyani Nagar, Pune, including Wadgaon Sheri and Ramwadi, for back and knee pain, stroke and post-surgery care.
Kalyani Nagar is an eastern Pune neighbourhood of apartment complexes, offices and landscaped roads, bounded on the south by the Mula-Mutha river. Most of the people who need a physiotherapist here are not short of clinics. They are short of time, or they are caring for a parent who cannot comfortably travel. Proper Care Physiotherapy sends a physiotherapist to the flat instead, so the first session starts in the room where the problem actually plays out.
This page explains how home physiotherapy in Kalyani Nagar works, how the roads and the metro works affect the timing of a visit, which problems we are most often asked to treat, and how to book. The neighbouring pockets of Wadgaon Sheri and Ramwadi have their own pages.
Many homes here are in multi-storey apartment buildings, and that shapes a visit in ways that older areas do not. The lift removes the stair problem for many patients, but it creates others. A lift cage may not take a wheelchair or a stretcher turned the wrong way. Security desks may need advance notice of a visitor. The bathroom, rather than the staircase, is often the most dangerous room in the flat: a small wet floor, a high tub edge and a squat toilet or a low seat.
When you book, we ask for the tower, floor and flat number, whether the lift needs a card, and whether you have told the gate. The physiotherapist also asks how the bed, chair and toilet are arranged, because small changes there often matter more than any exercise.
The neighbourhood is entered along Nagar Road from the Yerawada side, or over the Aga Khan Bridge from Koregaon Park. Our physiotherapists start from the clinic base on Katraj–Kondhwa Road, and the way in usually crosses the river.
Two recent changes affect arrivals. In March 2025 the Pune traffic branch closed the direct entry into Kalyani Nagar at Shastrinagar Chowk. Drivers now go about 700 metres further and turn back near the Aga Khan Palace, which residents said led to near-misses. And in September 2026 barricading appeared near Ramwadi metro station on Nagar Road, ahead of soil testing for an extension to Wagholi that is planned as a metro viaduct above a six-lane elevated road. Commuters have already raised concerns about congestion. We therefore agree a visit window with you rather than an exact minute, and the physiotherapist tells you if the road delays them.
Kalyani Nagar has its own metro station on the Aqua Line, opened in March 2024, between Yerwada and Ramwadi. For a patient who has recovered enough to travel, it is a possible later goal; the physiotherapist can say when it is sensible and who should accompany them.
Requests tend to follow a few patterns, and each has its own page for this neighbourhood:
General background is on our back pain, knee pain and post-surgery rehabilitation condition pages. Neck pain is common among people who work on screens; see neck pain physiotherapy if that is your main complaint.
With an IT park in the neighbourhood and many people working from home part of the week, the dining table has become an office. A laptop on a table that is too high or a sofa that is too soft pushes the head forward and rounds the upper back. The pain usually shows as a tight neck, tension headaches and an ache between the shoulder blades by afternoon.
The physiotherapist looks at where you actually sit, measures nothing grand, and moves things: raising the screen, supporting the lower back, setting a reminder to stand. Hands-on work eases the tight muscles, and a few exercises keep them from tightening again. Families who live in different cities can also ask that progress notes be shared with a relative who is not at home.
A typical household here has adults who leave early and return late, and a parent or in-law who spends most of the day at home with a cook, a cleaner or a full-time helper. That rhythm affects physiotherapy. A plan that needs a family member present at 11 in the morning may fall through, while one built around the helper, with clear photographs or written steps, usually survives.
We ask who is home when, and arrange the visit around them. If the family wants to be present for the first session and then leave the rest to the helper, we can do that. The physiotherapist also asks about the helper's own back, because assisting a heavy relative is a common cause of strain.
When walking indoors is steady, a short outdoor route becomes part of recovery. The compound paths and podium gardens of your own complex are the easiest first step, because the surface is known and help is near. The Dr Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary lies off Nagar Road beside the river; it is a nature area rather than a paved walking track, so check conditions and access before planning a visit. Roads with fast traffic, missing pavements or unmarked crossings are better left until balance is good, and the physiotherapist will tell you when that stage has arrived.
The pockets with their own pages are Wadgaon Sheri and Ramwadi. Next door we visit Yerawada on the Shastrinagar side, Koregaon Park across the Aga Khan Bridge, Viman Nagar and Kharadi. If you live on a boundary, book under the name you use and mention the nearest landmark.
The first appointment is a full assessment. The physiotherapist takes a history, checks for warning signs that need a doctor first, tests movement, strength and balance, and watches the tasks that cause trouble. Treatment usually begins in the same visit, combining hands-on work, exercise and, where suitable, a portable electrotherapy device. You are left with a short home programme and a clear next step. Please keep scans, discharge summaries and a list of medicines ready. Charges are listed on the pricing page.
Chest pain, sudden weakness or numbness on one side, a drooping face, slurred speech, a sudden severe headache, new loss of bladder or bowel control, or a fall with a possible fracture needs emergency care. A hot, swollen calf after surgery, or back pain with growing leg weakness, should also be seen by a doctor first.
Choose a date on the booking page and give the tower or building, floor, nearest landmark and whether the lift needs a card. We will confirm a visit window with you. The first assessment is free and needs no scan beforehand.
