Physiotherapists visit homes in Pimpri, Pune, including Pimpri Camp, Kharalwadi, Sant Tukaram Nagar, Kasarwadi and Dapodi, for pain and rehabilitation.
Pimpri is not a dormitory suburb. It grew around work: Hindustan Antibiotics opened here in 1954, and the factories that followed made the name Pimpri-Chinchwad known across India. Wikipedia lists Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, Force Motors and Eaton among the manufacturers connected with the area. Many families in Pimpri have a shift pattern, a shop counter or a long commute built into the week, and that shapes how bodies wear out and how a home physiotherapist plans a visit.
Proper Care Physiotherapy sends a physiotherapist to the home in Pimpri and the neighbourhoods around it. We should say plainly that Pimpri is one of the farther zones from our base on Katraj–Kondhwa Road in South Pune. Home physiotherapy in Pimpri is therefore booked in advance, with a time window agreed at the start, and not arranged at a few hours' notice. Follow-up visits can then be set on a regular rhythm.
Pimpri has two broad daily rhythms. One follows the factory gate: early starts, rotating shifts, long periods on one's feet and a ride or a rail journey on either side. The other follows the market: shops that open early and close late, with a family running them. The people who call us tend to come from one or the other.
The physiotherapist travels from South Pune, across the city and out along the Old Mumbai–Pune Highway side. Pimpri's roads are shaped by the railway line, the highway and the markets. Rail crossings and flyover works, such as the railway flyover planned at Pimpri Dairy Farm to link the Dapodi–Nigdi road with Powerhouse Chowk, have affected traffic in recent years. In the market streets of Pimpri Camp, the crowds can slow a vehicle at any hour.
For you, this means a few practical steps. Book a few days ahead where possible. Give us the nearest chowk, the building name and the floor. Expect a time window, not a precise minute. If a procession, festival or road closure changes the route, we will tell you before the visit if the window has to move.
Pimpri has both older buildings and newer apartment blocks. In a building without a lift, the staircase decides much of what the patient can do. The physiotherapist asks how many flights there are, which side the rail is on and whether a helper can walk behind. In a building with a lift, we look at the lift lobby, the doorstep and the bathroom instead.
In every home, the first visit includes a walk through the route the patient uses: bed, bathroom, kitchen, front door. We also ask about the usual obstacles, such as a high doorstep, a squat toilet that is hard to use after surgery, or a bed that is too low to get out of. Exercises are then adapted to what the home allows.
We also see shoulder and neck problems, and leg pain that starts in the back. Our guides to shoulder pain physiotherapy and sciatica treatment explain how those are handled.
Pimpri merges into several neighbourhoods, each with its own pace and its own page.
Next to these are Chinchwad and Nigdi to the north-west, Pimple Saudagar across the Pavana and Khadki towards Pune.
Pimpri is better connected than most places a home visit reaches. Pimpri railway station serves the Pune–Lonavala suburban trains, PCMC Bhavan is the northern end of the Purple Line of Pune Metro, and the bus stand at Vallabhnagar handles city and state buses. That makes it easier for a patient who is steady to reach a doctor or a clinic. For someone recovering from a stroke or an operation, the same journey means a crowded platform, steps and a rush of people. We often work with families on how and when to make the first outing, and whether a car or an auto-rickshaw is the safer choice for the first few follow-up appointments.
In a household where both adults work, or where one is on a rotating shift, the older person is often alone for part of the day. We ask who is at home and when, because it affects what a safe plan looks like. A parent who is alone at noon needs a clear route to the bathroom, a phone within reach and exercises that do not need a helper. A parent who has a helper in the evening can do the harder ones then. If you are away on shift, we can send the plan to you in writing, so that you can follow progress.
For most patients, the first walking practice is indoors, along a corridor or a landing, where the floor is flat and a rail is within reach. Pavements near the markets and highway are crowded, so we do not recommend them for someone who is unsteady. When the patient is ready, the physiotherapist will suggest a quieter lane or a nearby open space and the time of day when it is calmer.
The physiotherapist takes a history, asks what the doctor has advised, and examines movement, strength and balance. They also watch you do a few real tasks, such as getting out of bed or climbing a step. You leave with a short plan and a clear idea of what will be reviewed next time. Keep scan reports, prescriptions or a discharge summary handy. The pricing page explains what a session costs.
Sudden weakness or numbness on one side, a drooping face, slurred speech, chest pain, breathlessness, a fall with a suspected fracture or loss of bladder or bowel control need emergency care, not a home visit. Go to the nearest hospital emergency department. Once a doctor has cleared the cause, physiotherapy can start or resume.
Choose the nearest neighbourhood above, give the chowk, building and floor, and book an appointment. We will confirm a date and time window. If the patient is still in hospital, book before discharge so that the first visit falls in the first days at home.
