Home Physiotherapy in Ravet, Pune

Physiotherapist home visits in Ravet, Pune, beside the Pavana and the Aundh–Ravet road, for young professionals, tenants and their parents, booked ahead.

Ravet is where the Mumbai–Pune Expressway meets the Katraj–Dehu bypass, with the Pavana river as its southern boundary. Wikipedia describes it as mainly attracting a floating population of students and young IT professionals, and that matches what home physiotherapy in Ravet looks like: laptops at dining tables, rented flats in towers, and parents who have come from another town to live with their children.

This page explains what that means for a physiotherapist's visit, what we need to know when you book, and how the river and the roads shape the plan. It is part of our Nigdi zone.

Where the roads meet

Ravet is a junction area. The expressway and the bypass cross here, and the Aundh–Ravet road, which carries the Rainbow BRTS, has served it since 2016. The Sant Tukaram Bridge crosses the Pavana here, and the Akashraj One Mall is among the places people use to describe their address. The nearest railway station is Akurdi. Close neighbours include Walhekarwadi, Bijlinagar, Punawale, Kiwale and Wakad.

That junction is the reason for our timing. From our South Pune base the trip is long, and the stretch where highways meet is slow at peak hours. Visits are therefore booked in advance and arranged as a time window, and we keep you informed if the physiotherapist is held up. We do not promise a visit at a few hours' notice.

The laptop at the dining table

The commonest complaint we hear from young professionals here is a stiff neck, sore shoulders and a lower back that complains after a long day. Remote work has made the dining table an office, and the dining chair is not built for ten hours. A home visit can change this quickly, and cheaply. The physiotherapist raises the screen, shows how to sit with the hips back and the feet on the floor, treats the tight muscles and gives two or three exercises for each hour of work. See our page on back pain physiotherapy in Nigdi for how we assess the spine, and the guide to neck pain physiotherapy for the neck.

Towers, lifts and visitor registers

Many homes in Ravet are in societies with security gates. A few things make a visit smoother.

  • Add the physiotherapist to the visitor list and brief the gate staff.
  • Give the tower or wing, the flat number and the floor.
  • Tell us whether the lift is working and whether it can take a wheelchair.
  • Let us know where a two-wheeler can park.
  • Keep a phone on during the window, since signal can be poor inside lifts and corridors.

After surgery, a tower has the advantage of a lift, though a stiff leg may still struggle with a long corridor or a high door threshold. The page on post-surgery rehabilitation in Nigdi describes the first weeks.

Parents who have moved to Ravet

Another common story is a couple who bought a flat here and then brought one or both parents from a village or another city. The parent is in an unfamiliar flat, in an area with fast roads, and often alone through the working day. They may not know the lift, the bathroom or the neighbours. We make that first assessment about the flat as much as about the person: night lights, a mat that does not slide, a chair in the bathroom, a way to call for help. A modest strength and balance routine follows. See elderly physiotherapy in Nigdi for the programme in detail.

Walking practice and the busy road

We have not verified a particular park in Ravet itself, so we plan walking around what your society offers: the corridor, the internal road or garden, and the lobby. The roads outside are fast, and crossing them is not a task for a patient who is still unsteady. We practise standing, turning and stopping first, and agree with the family when a street outing is reasonable and who will accompany the patient.

The Pavana and the monsoon

Because Ravet sits on the Pavana, it feels the river's moods. In early July 2026 a report named Ravet among the areas affected when the Pavana, Mula and Indrayani swelled. If your building or street is under a flood or evacuation notice, we reschedule for safety. Even in an ordinary wet week, damp floors in lobbies and corridors raise the risk of a fall, so keep non-slip footwear by the door.

When to see a doctor first

Go to an emergency department for chest pain, severe breathlessness, sudden weakness of the face or limb, trouble speaking, loss of bladder or bowel control, or a serious injury. Persistent numbness or weakness in an arm or leg, a fever with back pain, or a swollen, hot calf also needs a doctor before physiotherapy.

Common Questions

Home physiotherapy in Ravet: questions families ask

I work in IT and sit for ten hours with a laptop in a rented flat. What can you do in one visit?
The physiotherapist looks at where you sit, adjusts your set-up with books, a cushion and a better chair position, treats stiff areas by hand and teaches short exercises for the working day. You leave with a small set of changes that cost almost nothing.
My society requires visitors to register at the gate. How do we avoid delays?
Please add the physiotherapist to the visitor list and tell the gate staff to expect someone from Proper Care Physiotherapy. Send us the tower, flat number and the name the visit is booked under.
My parents have moved in with us from another city and do not know the area. Is walking outdoors safe for them?
We start with a safety check of the flat and the lift, then build up from corridor walking to the society's internal paths. Outings beyond that depend on the parent's balance and a helper. Busy roads here need extra care, so we practise crossing and turning first.
Does the river affect your visits to Ravet?
In normal weeks, no. If your street or building is under a flood or evacuation notice, safety comes first and we reschedule. A report dated 6 July 2026 listed Ravet among the areas affected by swollen rivers.
