Home physiotherapy in Pimple Gurav, Pune, from the old gaothan lanes to the newer societies, booked in advance for pain, rehab and elderly care.
Pimple Gurav is one of the few parts of Pimpri-Chinchwad where an old village and a modern township sit side by side. Wikipedia describes it as a neighbourhood on the banks of the Pavana, off National Highway 48, with the 411061 pin code. Near the river and the temples are older houses and lanes. Around them have come apartment societies, a PMPML bus stand and a garden with a statue of a dinosaur. If you are searching for a physiotherapist in Pimple Gurav, it helps to know which of those two worlds your address belongs to, because the home visit differs between them.
Proper Care Physiotherapy sends a physiotherapist to the home. Pimple Gurav is one of the farther zones from our South Pune base, so visits are booked in advance, with an agreed time window. For how visits work across the wider area, see our Pimple Saudagar page.
The older core of Pimple Gurav holds the Guruvayur Shri Krishna temple and the Lord Bhairavnath temple. The village fair, the Gaon Jatra, is held on Hanuman Jayanti in April. Older houses in a village core often have a raised doorstep, a few steps at the entrance and a bathroom set toward the back, and some households still cook or eat at floor level.
The societies built around the village have lifts, tiled floors and corridors. A patient there is more likely to be at risk from a slippery bathroom or a low sofa. Both settings are fine for physiotherapy at home. The difference is what the physiotherapist checks first: steps and thresholds in the village houses, lifts and polished floors in the societies.
A December 2025 report described severe queues at Srushti Chowk in Pimple Gurav during office, school and evening hours, with cart vendors blocking footpaths and forcing pedestrians onto the road. That is a useful warning for a visit. We agree a time window and not an exact minute, and when we can we avoid the busiest hours. Tell us if your lane is only passable on foot or by two-wheeler, and where a vehicle can stand.
The pavements around the chowk are also a reason we are careful about outdoor walking. A patient relearning balance after surgery or a stroke should not be dodging handcarts. For them, the first walking practice happens at home.
For older residents, daily life often includes sitting on the floor for meals or prayers, visiting a temple and climbing a few steps to the entrance. Those are the movements that knees and hips resist first. In the home session we look at how the person gets down to the floor and up again, and whether a firm low stool or a chair at puja time would be safer for now. If your relative has a swollen, hot knee or has had a fall, tell us when booking, because those need a doctor's opinion first. Our knee pain physiotherapy page describes the usual approach.
Rajmata Jijau Garden, known as the Dinosaur Park for its 40-foot statue, is the green space people in Pimple Gurav mention most. Whether a patient can use it depends on how steady they are and how they would get there. We build up to it: the home floor, the corridor or lane, a short flat walk with a companion, and then the garden. The physiotherapist will say when each step is safe.
Pimple Gurav touches Dapodi and Kasarwadi on one side and Sangavi on another. If your home is closer to the Pimple Saudagar roads, see Pimple Nilakh. For flat riverside streets going towards Kalewadi, see Rahatani. Pimpri-side readers can also look at Dapodi.
The physiotherapist takes a history, tests movement, strength and balance, and watches how the patient manages a few real tasks at home. They leave a short plan. Chest pain, sudden one-sided weakness, slurred speech, a suspected fracture after a fall or loss of bladder control need emergency care first, so go to a hospital emergency department.
Tell us whether you are in the old village or a society, the nearest chowk and the floor. Book an appointment a few days ahead if you can, and we will confirm a window.
