Physiotherapist home visits on North Main Road, Koregaon Park, Pune, for bungalow residents and families, with timing set around school traffic.
North Main Road is the northern spine of Koregaon Park, running parallel to South Main Road with link lanes between the two. If a parent, a spouse or you yourself need physiotherapy and getting to a clinic has become a project, Proper Care Physiotherapy can send a physiotherapist to your door on North Main Road or the lanes that join it.
This page is about the practical side of home physiotherapy on this road: when it is easiest to reach, what the buildings tend to be like, what a visit concentrates on, and how to make the first booking smooth. For the wider neighbourhood, see our main page on home physiotherapy in Koregaon Park.
Koregaon Park is known for its leafy lanes and older bungalows, and North Main Road keeps much of that character. It also carries institutions. The Poona School and Home for Blind stands on North Main Road, and so does Pujya Kasturba Gandhi English and Marathi Medium School. With two schools on one road, drop-off and pick-up times are worth planning around.
The road is also a route towards Kalyani Nagar, which is reached from Koregaon Park over the Aga Khan Bridge, and Kalyani Nagar has its own metro station on the Aqua Line, opened in March 2024. Peak-hour queues towards that bridge are a fair reason to book a visit window rather than a fixed minute.
Because school traffic bunches up at the start and end of the school day, we suggest a visit window that avoids those hours if your lane is near the school gates. A late-morning or early-afternoon slot is often calmer, and it also suits a patient who has had breakfast and medicines and is not yet tired. If you prefer an evening visit, say so when you book; the physiotherapist will tell you what is available.
Parking deserves a line of its own. In November 2024, when counting for the state election was held at the FCI godown on South Main Road, the traffic police arranged two-wheeler parking at the school on North Main Road, which shows how limited roadside space can become when something is happening nearby. Tell us where a two-wheeler can be left near your gate or building, and whether a security guard needs to be told in advance.
A bungalow in this part of Koregaon Park may sit behind a gate, with a driveway, a garden and a few steps up to the verandah. For the patient, that entrance can be the hardest part of the day. A person recovering from a stroke or a hip operation may be able to walk across a room and still be unable to manage three outdoor steps with no second rail.
During a session we look at the surface of the path, the height of the steps, the light at night and whether the gate has to be opened by hand. We then plan the practice in stages: indoors first, then the verandah, then the path. The family or helper is shown where to stand and how to give a steadying arm without pulling. If you are caring for someone with knee pain who avoids the verandah steps, our knee pain physiotherapy in Koregaon Park page explains how stair practice is graded.
Condition-level guidance is on the back pain and elderly physiotherapy pages; this page stays with the local detail.
Koregaon Park's lanes attract morning and evening walkers, and North Main Road is no exception. Whether it is right for you depends on your balance. Roots can lift paving, and crossings need a clear head. The physiotherapist will usually start with a short, flat stretch near the gate, with someone beside you, before extending the distance. Osho Teerth Park, on D. H. Dhunjibhoy Road between lanes 2 and 3, is another option once you are walking confidently, and we can talk through whether it suits you.
If your address is closer to the river, look at Bund Garden Road, where bridge works and one-way roads shape the journey. For homes towards Sangamvadi and the railway colonies, see Dhole Patil Road. Across the Aga Khan Bridge, we also visit Kalyani Nagar.
Sudden weakness on one side of the body, a drooping face, difficulty speaking, chest pain, a fall that may have broken a bone, or new difficulty controlling the bladder or bowel all call for urgent medical help. Mention any of these on the phone and we will advise you to seek care first.
To book, go to the appointment page and add the lane or side road you are closest to, the name of the building or bungalow, the floor, and a phone number for the person who will be home. A helper or security guard who knows the physiotherapist is expected makes the arrival much easier.
