Home Physiotherapy in Mundhwa, Pune

Physiotherapist home visits in Mundhwa, Pune, including Keshav Nagar and Kirtane Baug, for back and knee pain, stroke recovery and care after surgery.

Home physiotherapy in Mundhwa, Pune, means a physiotherapist arrives at your flat or house, assesses the problem where it actually happens, treats you in the same visit and leaves a short plan for the days in between. It suits people whose difficulty is not only the pain but the journey: sitting in a cab through Mundhwa Chowk with a stiff back, or helping a parent down to a lift and into a vehicle after a hip operation.

Mundhwa sits on the eastern bank of the Mula–Mutha river, with Ghorpadi on the far side, Hadapsar to the south and the Magarpatta and Kharadi employment belt close by. This page explains how our visits work across it, what households here commonly ask for, how the area's roads affect timing, and how to book. Keshav Nagar and Kirtane Baug have their own pages, linked below.

A suburb that sleeps near its offices

A great many people in Mundhwa live within a short ride of an IT park. EON IT Park and Magarpatta are both close, and the flats, row houses and towers in between house people who may spend ten hours a day seated. Alongside them sits the older settlement, a village with its own lanes and long-time families, and a scattering of workshops and transport yards. The result is a mixed neighbourhood: a thirty-year-old in a high-rise flat and a retired shopkeeper in an old lane house can live a few minutes apart, and they need quite different things from a physiotherapist.

The younger group usually presents with a neck, upper back or lower back that has stiffened over months of screen work, or with a knee that complains after a weekend run or a flight of stairs. The older group more often has joint wear, a fall, or an operation behind them. Both are managed at home with the same basic method: assess, treat, teach, and review.

Getting to Mundhwa without being caught at the chowk

Our physiotherapists start from the clinic base on Katraj–Kondhwa Road and travel north through Kondhwa and Hadapsar. The last stretch is the unpredictable one. In April 2025 the Pune Municipal Corporation barricaded Mundhwa Chowk so that vehicles from Keshav Nagar could no longer go straight or turn right there; they were sent left towards the Magarpatta underbridge and had to turn back at a U-turn. In March 2026 the corporation's standing committee approved a double-decker flyover at Mahatma Phule Chowk, with a metro corridor planned above it, and a separate road from the Keshavnagar bridge towards Mundhwa has been proposed. Works of that size mean diversions, so the situation on the day may differ from the one you know.

Because of this we book a time window, not a to-the-minute arrival, and the physiotherapist tells you if they are held up. If a diversion means your building is easier to reach from one road than another, mention it when you book.

Gates, lifts and village lanes

Many towers and gated societies in Mundhwa need a visitor to be announced at the gate and may have separate service lifts or visitor parking. Tell the security desk to expect a physiotherapist, or give us a flat number and a contact person to name at the gate. In the older village lanes the issue is the opposite: a narrow approach where only a two-wheeler fits and where house numbers are not always visible. A nearby landmark, such as a temple, a school or a shop, saves a lot of phoning.

What households in Mundhwa most often ask us to treat

  • Back and neck pain from desk days. A dining table doubling as an office is common here. Our page on back pain physiotherapy in Mundhwa looks at seated loads, the commute and the movements that quietly make things worse.
  • Knee pain. Stairs in a society without a working lift, long walks on society paths and weekend sport all load the joint. Read about knee pain physiotherapy in Mundhwa.
  • Stroke recovery. Relearning movement in a flat that you know well is an advantage. See stroke rehabilitation at home in Mundhwa.
  • After an operation. Joint replacements, fracture fixation and abdominal or spine surgery all call for early, careful movement. The page on post-surgery rehabilitation in Mundhwa covers planning before discharge.
  • Older adults. Weak legs, poor balance and fear of falling often develop quietly. Our elderly physiotherapy in Mundhwa page is written for families who are out at work.

Other problems we see include shoulder stiffness, sciatica and neck pain. Our guides to sciatica, neck pain and walking difficulty explain the general picture; a home visit adds the local one.

Caring for a parent while you are at work

A recurring situation in an area full of commuters is the household where everyone leaves by nine and an older parent is at home with a helper, or alone. This is not a reason to avoid physiotherapy. It changes how we plan. The first visit should be timed so that a family member can be present to hear what is safe and what is not. After that, the programme is kept short and specific, written so that a domestic helper or the parent can follow it without supervision, and we say clearly which exercises must only be done when someone is in the flat.

The physiotherapist will also look at the home itself: loose rugs, a bathroom floor that becomes slippery, a bed that is too low to rise from, a chair without arms. Small changes made on the day often matter more than any exercise. If you live in another city and are arranging care for a parent here, the booking page lets you put your own number alongside theirs so that you are kept informed.

Walking and moving outdoors when you are ready

People recovering from knee, hip or stroke problems often want somewhere safe to practise walking. Society compounds with level paths are the usual first step because there is little traffic and a bench every few minutes. Roads around Mundhwa are busy and crossing them is a skill of its own, so we treat outdoor walking on the main roads as a later goal, introduced when balance, speed and confidence allow. Walking practice on a quiet stretch with a companion comes before any trip to the chowk.

The neighbourhoods we visit in and around Mundhwa

Within Mundhwa we cover Keshav Nagar, a large residential area on the road towards Kharadi, and Kirtane Baug, a quieter residential pocket of independent houses and small apartment blocks. We also visit the lanes near the Magarpatta underbridge and the streets between Mundhwa Chowk and the river. Over the river, Ghorpadi and Koregaon Park are covered separately, as are Hadapsar to the south and Kharadi to the north-east.

Pin code 411036, which covers the Mundhva and Mundhva AV post offices, is the one most addresses here use. If yours differs, simply tell us your building and landmark.

What your first visit includes

The first visit begins with a conversation: what happened, what makes it better or worse, medicines, previous scans and any operations. Your physiotherapist then checks movement, strength, balance and sensation, looks for warning signs that need a doctor first, and watches you do the things that matter at home, such as getting off the bed, sitting down at your table or climbing a few steps. Treatment starts straight away, usually a combination of hands-on work, targeted exercise and advice about posture and pacing. You are left with a short written or demonstrated plan, and the physiotherapist explains what will be reviewed next time. Our pricing page sets out what a visit costs.

You do not need any special equipment. A firm bed or a clear space on the floor, a sturdy chair, loose clothing and your medical papers are enough. Portable equipment, if the treatment needs it, is brought by the physiotherapist.

Symptoms that need a doctor before any physiotherapy

Some symptoms mean a medical assessment comes first, or immediately. Go to an emergency department, or call an ambulance, if you have sudden weakness of the face, arm or leg, trouble speaking, chest pain or breathlessness, loss of bladder or bowel control, numbness in the groin or saddle area, a high fever with severe back pain, or pain after a serious fall. A hot, swollen calf after an operation also needs urgent review. Ask your own doctor about anything that is getting steadily worse, wakes you at night or does not make sense.

Common Questions

Home physiotherapy in Mundhwa: questions families ask

Do you visit homes in Keshav Nagar and Kirtane Baug as well as the main Mundhwa road?
Yes. Both are part of our Mundhwa visits and have their own pages. Give the nearest chowk or landmark, the building name and the floor when you book, so the physiotherapist does not have to hunt for a lane that is not on every map.
Traffic at Mundhwa Chowk keeps changing. How do you handle arrival times?
We agree a time window with you rather than an exact minute, and the physiotherapist calls if the road is holding them up. If you have a preferred gate or entry road because of a diversion, say so when booking.
I work from home in a high-rise flat. Can sessions fit around meetings?
Often, yes. Early morning, a mid-day gap or the evening can be asked for, depending on availability. Sessions go better when you are not rushing back to a screen, so tell us which gaps in your calendar are realistic.
My father is alone in the flat during the day while we are at work. Is that a problem?
It is common, and it shapes the plan. We can visit while a family member or helper is there to learn the exercises, or agree a time when your father is alone and the plan is built around what he can safely do unaided. We would also look at his flat for trip hazards.
Do I need a scan before the first visit?
Not for most problems. If you already have scans, discharge papers or a doctor's note, keep them ready, because they tell the physiotherapist what to avoid and what has already been ruled out.
