Home Physiotherapy in MG Road, Pune

Physiotherapist home visits on MG Road, Camp, Pune, for shop and stall staff, residents and older parents, planned around festival and Palkhi closures.

People who search for a physiotherapist on MG Road are often not looking for a clinic at all. They are looking for a way to treat a sore back or aching feet without losing a working day, or for someone who can come to a parent who no longer crosses the road alone. Proper Care Physiotherapy visits homes on and around MG Road, the main shopping street of Pune Camp, and works around the opening hours, closures and crowds that shape life here.

MG Road is part of the wider cantonment area described on our home physiotherapy in Camp page. This page is about the street itself: how to be found, how its busy days affect visits, and which problems come up most often.

The street and the junctions along it

Mahatma Gandhi Road runs through the heart of Camp and ends at Pulgate, where Pulgate begins. East Street runs parallel to it and ends at the same place. Landmarks that people use to describe an address include Aurora Towers, the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar statue, ISKCON Mandir Chowk, 15 August Chowk, Mohammed Rafi Chowk and the Camp Y-Junction. When you book, name the one nearest to your door and say which side of the road you are on.

The postal code for the cantonment's post offices, such as Pune Cantt East, Pune New Bazar and Sachapir Street, is 411001. A full address matters more than the pin code here, since it is the cross lane and the building that the physiotherapist has to find.

Evenings, festivals and the Palkhi: when MG Road closes

MG Road is where Camp gathers. On 24 and 25 December 2025 the traffic police diverted vehicles from the evening because of the Christmas crowds, stopping them at junctions such as 15 August Chowk and ISKCON Mandir Chowk. In July 2026 the stretch from MG Road to Bhairoba Nalla Chowk was closed to vehicles from late on 10 July until noon on 12 July for the Palkhi, and the Eid-e-Milad procession on 26 August 2026 brought restrictions at the Camp Y-Junction and ISKCON Temple Chowk. These dates are announced a few days ahead.

On such days we may suggest an earlier hour or a different day rather than leave you waiting. Visits are booked as a time window in any case, so that one slow junction does not turn into a missed appointment.

What a day behind a shopfront does to the body

Retail is physical work. Staff on MG Road stand for long hours, carry stock from the back of the shop, and bend to low racks. In the first weeks the aches are mostly in the lower back and the soles of the feet. After months, a calf strain, heel pain or a stiff neck from looking down at a counter may follow. Three of our treatment pages are most relevant here:

We usually start with the way you actually work: how you reach, how you carry, where you rest your weight. A few changes to those habits, with strengthening and stretching, often matter more than rest.

Fitting a visit around the shop

If you run a shop, you may not be able to leave it until closing time. Ask for a slot before opening or after the shutters come down, and we will look for one, depending on availability. If your home is a few minutes from the shop, give that address and a phone number someone will answer, as staff may be busy with customers at the time we call.

For a parent who lives alone, a family member who works on MG Road can book and be present at the first visit during a break. The physiotherapist then explains the plan to both.

Older residents and the road itself

For an older person, MG Road is a busy road to cross, with two-wheelers, autorickshaws and walkers sharing the carriageway. Walking speed, balance and vision decide whether a crossing is safe. Our elderly physiotherapy in Camp page explains how we test this at home and build strength so that going out becomes less of a risk.

Other parts of Camp next door

Many of our patients live a few lanes away, in East Street, which runs parallel, or towards the Lashkar junctions near the police station. Both have their own pages.

Symptoms that need a doctor first

Go to an emergency department for chest pain, sudden weakness or numbness on one side, a drooping face or slurred speech, back pain with loss of bladder or bowel control, or a hot swollen calf with breathlessness. Physiotherapy comes after a doctor has ruled out these problems.

Booking a physiotherapist on MG Road

When you book an appointment, include the nearest junction, the building, the floor, and the times you can be reached. We do not promise a recovery time, but at each visit the physiotherapist will tell you what has changed and what the next steps are.

Common Questions

Home physiotherapy in MG Road: questions families ask

I work in a shop on MG Road until late. Can a physiotherapist visit after closing?
Often, yes. Tell us when you finish and where you will be, and we will look for an evening slot, subject to availability. Because of crowds and closures around MG Road, we agree a time window and keep in touch if there are delays.
Will a procession or festival cancel my visit?
Not necessarily. The police announce closures a few days ahead, and we can offer an earlier hour or another day. Mention any closure you have heard about when you book.
Where should the physiotherapist park on MG Road?
Parking near the shopfronts is limited, so tell us the nearest cross lane and whether there is space beside your building. A short walk from a nearby lane is usually fine.
Can you treat heel or foot pain from standing all day?
Yes. Standing for long hours can cause heel pain and tired calves. The physiotherapist checks your feet, footwear and standing habits and gives stretches and strengthening, with advice on rest and breaks.
