Physiotherapist home visits in Warje, Pune, from Warje Malwadi to Shivane and Uttam Nagar, for back and knee pain, stroke and recovery after surgery.
Warje is the part of western Pune where a national highway runs through the middle of daily life. The Mumbai–Bengaluru highway splits it, bridges carry traffic across the Mutha river on one side, and tall residential complexes stand a short walk from older lanes. If you are searching for a physiotherapist in Warje, the practical question is how someone in pain, or someone helping a parent, can be seen without crossing that highway at all. Proper Care Physiotherapy sends a physiotherapist to your home instead.
This page explains how home physiotherapy in Warje works, what people here commonly need help with, how we handle flats with lifts and houses with steps, and how it connects to Warje Malwadi, Shivane and Uttam Nagar.
Warje lies on the bank of the Mutha river, with Kothrud to the north and Katraj, Narhe and Dhayari around it. The highway passes through it, Karve Road leads up to Kothrud, and the road towards Narhe and Sinhagad Road leaves from the same belt. That gives residents good links to other parts of Pune, but it also means almost every errand involves a junction.
For a person recovering from a knee operation, a stroke or a fall, each of those junctions is a hurdle. Getting down to the street, into a vehicle, through traffic and up to a clinic waiting room can use up the energy that was meant for the exercises. A home visit keeps the strength for the part that matters. The assessment takes place at your own bed, chair, bathroom door and staircase, where the difficulty actually is.
Our physiotherapists start from the clinic base on Katraj–Kondhwa Road and travel along the highway corridor to reach Warje. The stretch has a long record of congestion. In March 2024 commuters held a protest asking for a flyover between Kakade City and the Warje highway, naming Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Chowk as a bottleneck. In early 2024 a lane near the Warje Rosary School underpass was closed for expansion joint repair.
Work has continued since. NHAI began bridges over the Mutha river at Warje in September 2024, and a separate 275-metre bridge linking Suncity on Sinhagad Road with Warje was reported in February 2026 as due before that year's monsoon. Roadworks like these help in the long run and can make a particular day unpredictable. We therefore book Warje visits as a time window, and we tell you if the physiotherapist is delayed.
When you book, give the nearest highway landmark, the society or lane name and whether the entrance faces the service road or the inner road. Those details save more time than a map pin, because the service roads run beside the highway and a flat can be close to it on the map but a long way round by road.
Warje has two quite different kinds of housing. In Warje Malwadi and along the highway there are large housing complexes, many of them towers with lifts, security desks and visitor registers. The older lanes hold smaller buildings and houses that grew up around the village, some with steps at the door and narrow internal staircases.
The building makes entry easy, and the difficulty moves indoors. Bathroom floors, a low sofa, a high bed and loose rugs cause more trouble than distance does. A lift also hides a risk. If it fails or is switched off for maintenance, someone who has not practised stairs may be stuck at home or forced to attempt them. We ask about this early and, once it is safe, practise a few steps with a family member standing below.
Here the entrance itself is the first test. The physiotherapist looks at the height of the door step, the rail, the lighting on the staircase and the surface outside, then works out a plan that does not depend on a heroic effort every time the person goes out.
If your problem is not on this list, the guides for back pain, knee pain, stroke rehabilitation and post-surgery rehabilitation describe how we assess and treat each condition in general terms.
The physiotherapist asks about your history, what you can and cannot do now, what medicines you take and what your doctor has advised. Then comes the physical examination: movement, strength, balance, sensation where relevant, and a look at how you actually move around the room. Because the visit takes place in your home, we test real tasks, for example standing from your own sofa, stepping into your own bathroom or reaching the cupboard you use every day.
Treatment starts in the same visit when it is safe. It usually combines hands-on work, a small set of exercises, advice on how to do daily tasks with less strain, and sometimes a pain-relief device used briefly so that movement becomes possible. You leave with a plan that is short enough to remember. Progress is reviewed each visit, and if the plan is not working the physiotherapist will say so and change it.
Warje also borders places we cover separately. Kothrud lies up Karve Road, Bavdhan sits beyond it to the north-west, and the Sinhagad Road side is covered on our Sinhagad Road page. Residents of the large township nearby can read about Nanded City.
Many households here are nuclear families in which both adults work, and an older parent is at home during the day. That arrangement carries two problems. The parent may avoid moving for fear of falling, and the family may not be around to see how they actually cope. A physiotherapist can check balance, leg strength and the way the person gets up from a chair, and then explain to the working child, perhaps by phone or in a short evening meeting, what to watch for.
The home also gets a safety review. Typical suggestions are a chair with arms, a non-slip mat in the bathroom, better lighting on the way to the toilet at night, and removing a loose rug. These are small changes. They count because a fall in an older person can lead to a fracture, a hospital stay and months of lost confidence.
Some symptoms need urgent medical assessment before any physiotherapy. Go to a hospital emergency department for sudden weakness of the face, arm or leg, slurred speech, chest pain, breathlessness, a fall with severe pain or a deformed limb, loss of bladder or bowel control, a hot swollen calf after surgery, or a wound that is opening or leaking pus. If you are unsure, call your doctor. Physiotherapy begins once a serious cause has been ruled out, or alongside medical treatment when your doctor agrees.
Tell us the area, the problem, who is booking, and the building details. We will confirm a visit window and what to keep ready. Go to the booking page to ask for a visit, or read the pricing page first if you want to see how sessions are charged. Whether you are in a tower beside the highway or a lane near the old village, home physiotherapy in Warje starts with a short conversation about where the difficulty is.
