Physiotherapist home visits across Aundh, Pune, from ITI Road and Parihar Chowk to Bremen Chowk and Sindh Society, for pain, stroke and rehab.
If you are looking for a physiotherapist in Aundh who comes to the house, this page explains how Proper Care Physiotherapy works across the neighbourhood. A qualified physiotherapist visits you at home, assesses the problem, begins treatment in the same visit and leaves you with a short plan. Nobody has to find parking at a clinic, wait in a corridor or travel in office-hour traffic with a painful knee or back.
Aundh is one of the more settled residential parts of western Pune. It spreads from the old village of Aundh Gaon to apartment towers, society compounds and older bungalow colonies, with University Road on one side and the Mula river on the other. Most of our calls come from three kinds of household, and the sections below are written around them.
The first group is working adults. Aundh grew largely on demand from IT professionals and people who moved to Pune from other states, and many of them now work part of the week from a spare room or the dining table. A laptop on a table that is the wrong height produces a stiff neck, an aching low back and tight shoulders. These problems respond well to treatment at home because the physiotherapist can see the actual set-up rather than guessing at it.
The second group is the older parent. Many families here have a son or daughter in another part of Pune, in another city, or abroad, and a parent who manages with a helper for a few hours a day. The physiotherapist's job is then twofold: treat the problem, and make the home safer to move around in. Children often book the first visit by phone and ask for a plain summary afterwards, which is a sensible arrangement and one we are glad to follow.
The third group is the family looking after someone who has just come home from hospital after a stroke, a fracture or a joint operation. Recovery here depends on what happens in the first few weeks at home, and that is exactly where visits help.
The neighbourhood is organised around a handful of junctions. Parihar Chowk sits beside Westend Mall, and the road from there to Bremen Chowk was redesigned as a Smart City pilot, with a wider footpath, a cycle lane and raised crossings. ITI Road runs through a dense strip of flats and clinics. Behind these main roads, Sindh Society and similar colonies have quieter lanes and older houses.
A few practical points shape every visit:
Back and neck pain from long hours at a screen top the list, followed by knee pain in older residents who climb a few stairs a day or sit on the floor for prayers. Our pages on back pain physiotherapy in Aundh and knee pain physiotherapy in Aundh go into the local routines in detail. You can also read the general guides on back pain, neck pain and arthritis.
Recovery at home after major illness or surgery is the other large area of work. We cover stroke rehabilitation in Aundh and post-surgery rehabilitation in Aundh on separate pages, including what the family needs to set up before the patient arrives home. For people who are frail or unsteady, the elderly physiotherapy page for Aundh deals with falls, balance and confidence on the stairs. Related guides are available on fall prevention and knee replacement rehabilitation.
A few patterns recur in the calls we receive. Evening walkers who cover the footpaths and society roads at speed after a day at a desk come with sore shins and knees. Parents who spend the day on a sofa in front of the television develop stiff hips and weak thighs. Young families carry toddlers up and down lift lobbies and play areas, and parents complain of shoulder and low back pain. Children's school bags and sports bring minor injuries that parents prefer to have checked at home. None of these is unusual, but each responds to a different approach, which is why the first visit always starts with listening.
The physiotherapist also asks about sleep, because poor sleep, long hours and stress make pain feel worse. A plan that ignores them usually stalls after a week, so we try to fit exercises into the day you actually have.
Aundh has no shortage of clinics, including several on ITI Road, and a clinic suits many people. A visit to you makes more sense in particular situations: a person who cannot sit in a car for long, someone whose pain is worst in the morning when travel is hardest, a patient who depends on a family member to be accompanied, or anyone who needs the assessment to take place where the difficulty actually happens, such as the bathroom, the bed or the stairs. If you are not sure which suits you, describe the problem when you book and we will advise.
Some people also use the metro. Khadki station on the Purple Line opened in June 2025 and serves Aundh residents, so a patient who is well enough to travel may combine a hospital follow-up with a visit home afterwards. We are happy to schedule around such appointments.
Walking practice is a central part of rehabilitation, and the surroundings matter. Society gardens and internal roads suit early walking because they are flat, lit and free of vehicles. The wider footpath on the Parihar–Bremen stretch is useful for longer, steadier walks once a patient is confident, though crowds at weekends can make it tiring. The physiotherapist will pick a place to practise on the first or second visit, with a clear stopping point and a plan for what to do if the patient tires.
The first visit is a full assessment. The physiotherapist listens to your story, reads any reports or discharge papers you have, checks movement, strength, balance and sensation, and looks at your home for hazards. Treatment usually begins straight away, and you leave with a short list of exercises and advice for the days between visits. Progress is reviewed at every session. We do not promise a number of sessions because that depends on the problem, how long it has been present and how the body responds. Current charges are on the pricing page.
Some symptoms call for medical assessment first. They include sudden weakness of the face, arm or leg, difficulty in speaking, chest pain, new loss of bladder or bowel control, numbness between the legs, a hot and swollen calf, fever with a painful joint, and pain after a fall with a visibly deformed limb. In these cases, call emergency services or go to the nearest emergency department. Physiotherapy can follow when a doctor confirms it is safe.
Aundh borders several parts of western Pune. Towards the north-west, Baner is a short ride away along Baner Road, and Pashan lies beyond it. Back towards the city, Shivajinagar is the gateway to University Road, and across the Mula river is Pimple Saudagar in Pimpri-Chinchwad. If your home is near one of these boundaries, look at those pages as well.
Tell us the society or lane, the problem and a few convenient time slots on the booking page. A coordinator confirms the visit window and schedules the first assessment. If the patient is a parent and you are booking from elsewhere, say so, and give the name and phone number of the person who will be at home.
