Core Services
People searching for a physiotherapist in NIBM, Pune, are usually not looking for an old lane or a courtyard house. They are in a flat in a gated society, often on a high floor, often with a lift, and often with a calendar full of calls. Proper Care Physiotherapy visits homes here so that treatment fits around that routine instead of adding a drive down NIBM Road to it.
NIBM is the stretch of the main NIBM Road area around the National Institute of Bank Management, and it has its own sub post office on 411048. This page covers what is particular to living and working here, and how a home session is organised for apartment residents.
Apartment life and the body
The neighbourhood is described by developers as a premium residential pocket with malls and clubs nearby, among them Dorabjee's Mall, Clover Hills Plaza and the Corinthians Club. Whatever the marketing says, the daily reality for many residents is long sitting. Some commute to Magarpatta or Hadapsar; others log in from a spare room. The body copes with this for a while and then complains with a stiff neck, a tight upper back, a lower back that locks after a flight or a long drive, or a wrist that tingles after hours at a trackpad.
Clubhouses and gyms add another layer. Many people here exercise, which is good for them, but a new gym programme started after months of sitting is a common source of shoulder, back and knee strain. A physiotherapist can look at how you move before you carry on, and adjust the load.
Reaching a flat in a gated society
NIBM Road is one of the busier corridors in this part of South Pune. A news report in April 2025 named Jyoti Chowk, Sarvodaya Chowk and Bakers Point as places where traffic stalls. Our physiotherapists travel from the base on Katraj–Kondhwa Road, so we agree on a time window and call if there is a delay.
The last hundred metres matter too. Most societies here have a security desk, and some require advance entry of a visitor's name. Share the society, tower, floor and a number the guard can ring. If the lift is booked for a move-in, the physiotherapist may need a few extra minutes, so mention it if you know.
What home visits usually cover in NIBM
- Desk-related neck and back pain. We look at your chair, screen height and how often you move, then combine hands-on treatment with a few exercises you can do between meetings. See back pain physiotherapy on NIBM Road.
- Knee pain and stiffness. Many people hit trouble on the stairs or when they restart running. See knee pain physiotherapy on NIBM Road.
- Rehabilitation after surgery. If an operation was done at a hospital elsewhere in Pune, you can arrange care at home afterwards; see post-surgery rehabilitation on NIBM Road.
- Older parents. A parent in a flat while a child works long hours may need strength and balance work; see elderly physiotherapy on NIBM Road.
- Shoulder and neck complaints. Our guide to shoulder pain physiotherapy and neck pain physiotherapy explain the general picture.
A home session that works around a laptop
The physiotherapist begins with questions: when the pain started, what makes it worse, your work pattern and any earlier treatment. They then examine posture, joint movement, strength and nerve function, and ask you to show the movements that trouble you, such as turning to look at a second screen, reaching for a high shelf or standing up from a low sofa. Because this is your own home, we can test your real chair, desk and bed. Treatment follows in the same visit, then a short plan of movements, usually no more than a few at a time, so that it is realistic to complete between calls.
If you are managing pain that has lasted for months, ask the physiotherapist how to pace your week. A schedule of short walks, a standing call or two and a regular stretch is often more useful than a long weekend session of exercise.
Looking after a parent from a distance
Some of our bookings from NIBM come from people who live elsewhere and have a parent in a flat here, or from children who work long hours and cannot be at home on weekdays. In both cases, let us know who will be present, who should receive updates, and what the parent is worried about. The physiotherapist speaks to the parent directly and explains what to do in plain language. Where useful, a neighbour, relative or carer can be shown the exercises so that the plan carries on between visits.

When to get urgent medical help
Go to an emergency department for sudden facial droop, weakness of an arm or leg, slurred speech, chest pain, severe breathlessness, or a new loss of bladder control with back pain. Neck pain after a fall or a road accident, or with severe headache and vomiting, also needs medical review first.
