Physiotherapist home visits in Walhekarwadi, Chinchwad, Pune, for apartment homes of working couples and their parents, booked in advance.
Walhekarwadi is one of those Chinchwad neighbourhoods that people locate by what is next to it: Akurdi and its railway station on one side, Ravet on the other. It has been filling with newer apartment projects, and the households moving in tend to be working couples, often with a parent who has come to live with them. That combination is what shapes home physiotherapy in Walhekarwadi: the patient is frequently an older relative in a flat that is empty during the day.
This page describes how we handle that, what we need from you at booking, and what the first visit looks like. For the whole area, see Chinchwad.
India Post data does not list a post office named Walhekarwadi, and the area is described only in relation to its neighbours. Wikipedia's pages for Akurdi station and Ravet both name it among nearby areas, and addresses on Walhekarwadi Road are written with the Chinchwad 411033 pin code. We use those clues, and ask you for a landmark, because that is what a physiotherapist needs to find your gate.
The easiest reference points are the Akurdi railway station on B.D. Tupe Road, the approach to Ravet, and the Chinchwad railway station further along the line. The Pune metro extension to Nigdi will add stations at Chinchwad and Akurdi, with a report on 30 August 2026 putting the elevated structure at about three-quarters complete and track-laying begun between Akurdi and Nigdi.
Walhekarwadi is a long way from our South Pune base, so we plan visits in advance and give a time window. Evening availability is not something we can promise in advance; tell us when you can be home and we will see what fits.
When both partners work, a parent may spend eight or nine hours alone in a flat that is not their own. They may not know where the light switches are at night, how the bathroom taps work, or which rug slides. The physiotherapist usually asks for a walk through the flat with the parent: bed, bathroom, kitchen, balcony door. We look for the spots where they hold on to furniture and where their feet drag.
The plan that follows is deliberately modest. A few strength and balance exercises that can be done holding the kitchen counter, a rule about which tasks wait until someone is home, and a way to get up from a fall or call for help. This is the core of our elderly physiotherapy in Chinchwad programme, applied to a flat.
Another group we see is the adult who moved into a new flat and now works from the dining table. The neck, shoulders and lower back pay for it. Our fixes cost little: raising the screen on a stack of books, a cushion at the small of the back, a chair that leaves the feet on the floor, and a three-minute exercise break every hour. If back pain is the issue, our back pain physiotherapy in Chinchwad page describes the full assessment, and the general guide to neck pain physiotherapy covers the neck.
After a joint replacement or a fracture repair, a flat has some advantages: a flat floor, usually a lift, and everything on one level. It also has hazards: polished tiles, a high lift threshold, and a small bathroom where a helper cannot stand beside the patient. We plan for each of those, and we practise the walk to the lift before the first outing. Read our page on post-surgery rehabilitation in Chinchwad for the staged programme.
We have not verified a specific park inside Walhekarwadi, so we plan around what the building offers: the corridor on your floor, the society's internal road or garden, the lobby. Many societies have a paved loop, which is ideal when it is quiet in the morning. We start with a few lengths of the corridor, add the garden when the patient is steady, and keep a chair along the route.
If your address is closer to Akurdi or the old village, you may prefer to read about Bijlinagar and Thergaon. All of Chinchwad is covered by the same booking arrangement.
Go to a hospital emergency department for sudden weakness of the face or a limb, slurred speech, chest pain, severe breathlessness, loss of bladder or bowel control, or a fall with a head injury. A swollen, hot, painful calf after surgery needs a doctor immediately. We will say clearly if something we find means a doctor should see you before any further physiotherapy.
Use the booking page with your society, landmark and floor. The earlier you ask, the more choice there is of day and window. For help deciding whether a problem is suited to physiotherapy, write a line or two about it in the booking form.
