Home Physiotherapy in Sukhsagar Nagar, Katraj, Pune

Physiotherapist home visits in Sukhsagar Nagar, Katraj, Pune, for bungalows, villas and flats: back and knee pain, stroke and post-surgery recovery.

Home physiotherapy in Sukhsagar Nagar suits a neighbourhood where the houses themselves are part of the problem to be solved. Property listings show independent villas and gated villa communities here, alongside one-bedroom and one-room flats. For a person recovering from surgery or a stroke, a villa with the bedroom on one floor and the bathroom on another is a different challenge from a flat on the third floor, and a home visit lets the physiotherapist see which one you have.

This page covers Sukhsagar Nagar, a locality that listings place in Katraj, near Rajas Society, with Kondhwa Budruk and Bibwewadi as other neighbours. It is part of our home physiotherapy in Katraj coverage.

The staircase inside the house

In a villa or bungalow, the staircase is private and often steep, with a turn halfway. The first questions we ask are where the patient sleeps, where the bathroom is, and how many steps lie between them. After a knee or hip operation, or a stroke, climbing may be unsafe at first. The physiotherapist may advise moving the bed downstairs for a time, then practising the stairs under supervision, one step at a time, once the patient is stronger.

We look for the usual hazards: a rail on only one side, a loose runner, poor light at the turn and a high first step. Small changes often make the difference between a patient who dreads the stairs and one who can manage them with a guard.

Gardens, terraces and the lane outside

Many bungalows and villas have a garden, a porch or a terrace, which makes ideal walking practice space, quieter than the street and often flat. The physiotherapist checks the surface: wet stone and moss are as risky as a polished floor, and a terrace without a parapet is no place for a patient who is unsteady. Where it is safe, the garden or terrace becomes the second stage of walking practice, after the room and the hallway and before the lane outside.

The lane itself is the third stage, and Katraj–Kondhwa Road is not a place for early practice. It is being widened to 50 metres, with diversions that have moved traffic onto a service road near Rajas Society, according to reports from late September 2026.

Getting here during the widening

Our base is on Katraj–Kondhwa Road, the road whose widening is causing the diversions near Rajas Society. The widening was reported on 29 September 2026 to be due for completion in March 2027, with the Katraj Chowk flyover due by December 2026. Until then, diversions change from week to week, and PMPML has moved Katraj–Kondhwa Road bus routes to Rajas Society Chowk since December 2024. A relative who will join the first visit by bus should check the current stop.

For the visit itself, we book a time window and tell you if we are delayed. Tell us the name of the society or villa community, whether there is a security desk, and which side of the road you are on. If you live in a gated community, warn the desk and give them the name and phone number they should expect.

Households and their routines

A villa community may hold several generations, from working adults to grandparents and children. A flat, by contrast, may be rented by a student or a couple. Whichever you live in, the common problems are:

When a patient needs more than one visit a week

In the early weeks after an operation or a stroke, some families ask for visits several times a week. The right frequency depends on the surgeon's advice, the person's condition and how well the family can supervise exercises in between. The physiotherapist will tell you what they recommend after the first assessment, and review it as the patient improves. We do not promise a number of sessions or a recovery date.

What to prepare

  • A clear route from the bed to the bathroom, free of loose mats and cables.
  • Good light on the staircase and a firm rail on at least one side.
  • The discharge summary, scans or prescriptions, if you have them.
  • Someone to be present who will help the patient day to day.

Go to an emergency department first if there is sudden weakness or numbness on one side, difficulty speaking, chest pain, severe breathlessness, loss of bladder or bowel control, or a fall with severe pain or inability to put weight on a leg.

Common Questions

Home physiotherapy in Sukhsagar Nagar: questions families ask

Our house has the bedroom upstairs and the bathroom downstairs. How does physiotherapy deal with that?
The physiotherapist looks at the whole route, including the staircase, and plans around it. After surgery or a stroke it may be safer to set up a bed downstairs for a while, and stairs are then practised under supervision until the patient can manage them.
We live in a gated villa community. Is there anything to arrange?
Tell the security desk to expect the physiotherapist and give them the villa or flat number and a contact name. It avoids a wait at the gate, which matters on a road with roadworks.
Can the garden or terrace be used for walking practice?
Often it is a good place, as long as the surface is even and non-slippery, and there is a rail or a person to hold. The physiotherapist checks it during the visit and decides when it is safe to start.
Does the roadwork on Katraj–Kondhwa Road change when the physiotherapist can arrive?
It can slow the journey. We book a time window rather than an exact minute and tell you if there is a delay. Mention which side of the road you are on and the name of your society or lane when you book.
