Subjective

For two years, the first ten minutes of nearly every new patient visit went the same way. I'd explain the assessment, the plan, the fee — and almost without fail: "Bhaiya thoda kam kar do."

Sometimes ₹500 became ₹400. Sometimes a "package discount" got invented on the spot. It was never really about the ₹100. It was about where the visit sat in the patient's head — somewhere between a delivery guy and a domestic help. A person who turns up at the door with a bag, not a clinic that sends a clinician.

O

Objective

On paper, nothing was actually wrong. Fully booked. 8–9 home visits a day. Decent outcomes, decent word-of-mouth. But income had been flat for a long time, and every new patient meant negotiating the price from zero, again.

Same hands. Same assessment. Same exercises and manual technique I'm using today. The treatment was never the variable.

A

Assessment

This was never a pricing problem. It was a presentation problem. Show up as "a physio who visits homes," and you're a freelancer — and freelancers get negotiated with, every time, by everyone, because that's the category they've been filed under.

Show up as a practice — branded invoice, branded WhatsApp, a name attached to the visit before treatment even starts — and the patient is paying for a system, not haggling with a guy. Same hands. Different category.

P

Plan — treatment protocol

What actually changed, in order:

  1. Name the practice. Give it a name that isn't your name — "Proper Care Physiotherapy," not "Tushar Physio." This one line does more work than people expect.
  2. Replace the handwritten chit. Every patient gets a proper invoice with the clinic name and logo on it — not a page torn from a notebook.
  3. Move communication off your personal number. Appointment confirmations and reminders go out from "[Clinic Name]" on WhatsApp, not from your phone.
  4. Give patients a portal, not a chat thread. Treatment notes, progress, next appointment — somewhere that isn't a WhatsApp message that gets buried by tomorrow.
  5. Certificates on letterhead, same day. If a patient needs something for office or insurance, it's ready that day — not "I'll write something, give me a day."
Equipment used I run this on physiodesk.in — built for Indian physio practices, INR billing, patient portal, WhatsApp follow-ups baked in. Sign up here — use code BRAND for 70% off the base price.

Outcome & re-assessment

₹500 became ₹700+ — for the same patients who, months earlier, would have negotiated ₹500 down to ₹400. Nothing about the treatment changed. Only the frame did.

The math that made the system a no-brainer:

System cost₹1,000 / month
Covered by1 extra session at ₹700+
Everything after thatPure profit, every month

Home exercise program — do before your next session

  • RepsPick a practice name today. Not the perfect one — a picked one.
  • Set 1Rebuild your invoice template with that name on it. Use it for your very next patient.
  • Set 2Switch your WhatsApp Business profile to the clinic name, not your own.
  • Set 3Next time someone asks "can you do it for less," don't answer as yourself. Answer as the clinic.
